Long time no see! I’m back again! I finally managed to finish another personal project, and I’m super excited to share it.
Hallstatt Village is a stylized environment inspired by the visual identity and atmosphere of Overwatch. It is a fully game-ready project implemented in Unreal Engine 5.7.
Since I had already done extensive research on Hallstatt Village for another project, I thought it would be a great opportunity to take it further and build an entire map inspired by this beautiful lakeside town, using Overwatch’s strong color language, readability, and gameplay-oriented visual design as a foundation.
This environment features a comprehensive range of assets, including modular architecture kits, hero props, custom materials, stylized materials created in Substance Designer, trim sheets, props, vegetation, environmental storytelling, composition, atmospheric lighting, and cinematic shots. All assets, props, and vegetation were created by me using Blender, Substance Painter, Photoshop, SpeedTree, and Marmoset Toolbag. For the Day Sky Sphere, I used the one from “Ghibli Grass and Flowers with Clouds | Stylized Field”: https://www.fab.com/listings/44b5ca27-7e0e-412a-9b8e-6f629bdc1e85
I enjoyed every step of developing this map, making sure it feels gameplay-ready, performs efficiently with real-time lighting, and communicates a strong sense of place and story.
Special thanks to everyone who helped me with feedback and support throughout the development of this project.
